Behind the Pen
D.M. Asteria is a Wisconsin-based fantasy author with a long standing love of mythology, history, and complicated relationships that make characters feel human.
Drawing inspiration from the world around her and a lifelong love of storytelling, she writes character-driven fantasy that explores identiy, belonging, personal growth, and the families we find along the way. Her debut novel, Remnants of the Past, is the first installment of The High Crown Chronicles.
When she isn't creating fictional worlds or putting her characters through emotionally questionable situations, she can often be found reading, sewing, dancing, or being supervised by her menagerie of pets --specifically the cats who have very strong opinions about how her time should be spent.
She firmly believes that the best stories aren't simply about where the characters go, but who they become along the way.
"You were never excluded. You were just not here."
